Want to take lessons but can’t make the trip to Seattle? Try Skype! I have been teaching via Skype for 2 years now, and I really love it. Lessons via Skype are also cheaper (only $30 per hour!).

You don’t have to worry about accidentally forgetting your sheet music at home or traffic on the way to your lesson, and it makes general scheduling a lot simpler. I also find, though it is a bit counter-intuitive, that younger students fare better with Skype. In the comfort of their own home, and not surrounded by lots of new sensory inputs, they can focus much better and accomplish more in the lesson.
